Air-to-air heat pumps (AHHP) are also known colloquially as air conditioning systems. However, it is less well known that this electricity-powered technology can also be used for heating. It utilises the free environmental energy of the outside air, i.e. it draws in the air from outside and heats it up. In technical terms, the temperature of the air is raised via the so-called refrigerant circuit and the thermal energy generated is then transferred to the indoor air in the home: it becomes warm. The technology is therefore similar to the function of an "inverted refrigerator". dekarbo installs modern, highly efficient and climate-friendly multi-split units, i.e. one outdoor unit is installed in each flat, which is connected to the indoor units in the rooms to be heated.
